One of the biggest holes in human history is currently being dug by China as they seek to find potential life down there. At 10,000 metres deep and going through 10 layers of rock, they'll be digging this one for ages but there is a purpose behind it all.

Russia already have one. They plugged it after all studies complete.It exceeded 10,000ft. and this only reached 1/3 of the outer core layer. Let's see what China can accomplish. One of the reasons why the Rissian stopped drilling the deepest well in the world was due to rising temp inside the ground, causing accelerated wear of the drill head. The biggest issue to drill a very deep hole into the ground is the vertical alignment at the deep end. Many others tried and failed.
