Chinese man hosts wedding banquet and baby celebration with 2 different women: Same day, same venue
He may be sleeping on the couch for a while after this - but the question is, whose?
A man in China reportedly hosted a wedding banquet and a milestone celebration for his baby on the same day in the same building, but with two different women, according to a post on X by user Paluyyds on Monday (Oct 12).
"On the first floor, they're hosting the wedding reception for the groom and his mistress, while upstairs at the same time, they're holding the full moon/100-day milestone banquet for his first wife's child," the user claimed. "Both events collided in the same hotel."
In a viral video uploaded with the post that has since garnered over 6.6 million views, two parties can be seen clashing in the building's lobby.
One group, apparently led by a woman holding a child, attempts to go up a flight of stairs. However, her path is blocked by a group of men standing arm-in-arm.
Despite the best efforts of the woman and her entourage, they are unable to get past the human barricade.
Shouting can also be heard as a woman demands in Mandarin for the men to "move aside".
The situation is later defused when a man dressed in black descends from the floor above, apparently asking the woman's entourage to back off. The video ends with the groups dispersing in different directions.
"Even TV dramas wouldn't dare to write this," Paluyyds commented.
The incident reportedly occurred on Oct 9 at a hotel in Liupanshui's Zhongshan district in Guizhou province, where the two banquets had been booked by separate families, according to Sohu News.
Staff at the venue called the police after a confrontation broke out between the two groups.
According to 163.com, the wedding banquet involved the man's legally recognised marriage, while the 100-day celebration was for a child he had with an ex-girlfriend.
Officials said the case did not constitute bigamy because the man was legally married to only one woman.
A statement from Zhongshan district authorities reportedly added that the man and the two women are involved in financial disputes, and that multiple departments have intervened to help resolve the matter.
