Christine Fan Sings Off-Key During Duet With Wilber Pan, Whose Reaction Sent Netizens In A Tizzy
Taiwanese singer Christine Fan, 49, has made the headlines for singing out of tune… again.
Earlier this month, during her appearance as a contestant on Chinese reality singing show Singer 2025, Christine performed her own song ‘The First Dream’, only to sound shaky and pitchy.
Her time on the show was short-lived — she was eliminated that same night and was seen crying backstage after the less-than-perfect execution of her popular track.
We don’t think she would’ve expected history to repeat itself, but sadly, that’s what happened during her recent concert in Foshan.
During a talking segment with her special guest, Wilber Pan, Christine mentioned the Singer 2025 incident, saying: “Sometimes, life is like this, you can sing ‘The First Dream’ thousands of times, and never once had a shaky or pitchy performance, but on that day itself, you suddenly [choke up], sounding shaky and off-pitch."
Wilber comforted her with this reply: “Singers are also regular people, not machines. It’s normal to have these things happen, my voice often cracks too.”
The duo then performed a duet to ‘Bu De Bu Ai’ (Can’t Help But Love You), which was originally recorded by Wilber and Chinese singer Zhang Xianzi.
Christine might have very well jinxed herself, for her voice sounded unstable and off-pitch again. She also struggled to hit several high notes. Wilber appeared to have a tough time controlling his facial expression when it happened, and ended up looking rather awkward on stage.
We aren’t sure if he was cringing for her or at her at that moment, but netizens are finding the entire scene all too hilarious.
“Is he regretting showing up?” asked one netizen, while another pointed out that “Wilber’s nostrils looked as if they were trembling from holding back his expression”.
Some also felt that Christine should not have chosen a song that was “too high-pitched” for her. “How did her singing skills deteriorate this much?” wondered one commenter.
Wilber on the other hand, received praise for his stable performance, with this netizen making a pun on the song’s title: “Wilber was probably like: Can’t help but sing.”
Here’s hoping the nerves won’t get to Christine during her next time on stage.

Well, at least she gets the attention although not in a nice way. However if she choose to remain in this industry, she will have to show her skill to gain real support from the people
