Companies causing haze to be penalised upon entering M'sia, says Guan Eng

KUALA LUMPUR: Companies or individuals responsible for the transboundary haze will be subject to a penalty upon entering Malaysia, Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng said.

This, he said follows suggestions for a Transboundary Haze Act to be introduced amid outrage by Malaysia and neighbouring countries being clouded by haze every year.

“There was a suggestion that we enact the Transboundary Haze Act where anyone identified as among parties that caused forest fires be subjected to a penalty if they come to Malaysia,” he told reporters after launching the Medical Travel Market Intelligence Conference 2019 here today.
