Job platform Seek has been ordered by the Federal Court to continue granting Employment Hero access to its job posting API during ongoing legal proceedings.

The dispute arises from Seek’s attempt to terminate the integration, which Employment Hero claims would disrupt services for thousands of small businesses.

The Federal Court’s interim ruling, issued by Justice Elizabeth Cheeseman, prevents Seek from terminating or interfering with the API access.

Seek is also prohibited from delaying or degrading Employment Hero’s functionality unless there is a breach of the existing API terms, which Employment Hero denies.

Employment Hero, which provides HR and recruitment software for small and medium-sized businesses, initiated the case last week.

The company argues that Seek’s actions could harm its users and accuses the job platform of breaching competition laws.
