With the number of people running into their fave celebs at airports these days, we think it’s best we keep our eyes peeled the next time we’re waiting to board a flight.

A Chinese netizen recently posted a series of photos on social media site Xiao Hong Shu of her chance encounter with Taiwanese singer Cyndi Wang at the Macau airport. And safe to say, she was more than a little mesmerised by the 40-year-old star.

“I was at the Macau airport waiting to pass through customs when I noticed a girl standing in front of me. She looked extremely skinny and fair and was dressed casually. I couldn’t help but take another look at her,” wrote the netizen.

According to her post, the 'girl’ was carrying a small Hermès bag on her “very slender and fair arm” and was laughing while speaking to her companion. Though she was wearing a mask, the netizen felt her “eyes and eyebrows" looked really familiar.

That was when she realised that the 'tiny girl' she was so drawn to was Cyndi.

The netizen added that it appeared no one around them had recognised Cyndi. So she continued to observe her while getting her husband to confirm numerous times that she did not mistake a random stranger for the singer.

“My husband also said that her face is super small. [Her face] is almost the same size as our daughter’s. My daughter is only seven!” she recounted.

However, even after confirming that the lady was indeed Cyndi, said netizen did not dare to call out to the star as she was afraid to “cause a ruckus”. She settled for telling her son and daughter about the star instead.

“Our whole family was so mesmerised by Cyndi’s beauty that I forgot to snap more pictures of her,” gushed the netizen, while adding that the singer “did not look 40” at all.

She continued: “I also realised that it’s not easy being a celebrity. [They] can try their best to look low-key in their daily lives, but there will still be people who are able to recognise them. [I noticed her] not because she looked perfect, but because there was some sort of shining aura about her. It’s really different from [looking at] an influencer!”
