Adam Tobias, aged 35, was fatally shot at a residence in southeast Houston, Texas.

The Houston Police Department reported that the incident occurred around 4:15am local time on Friday.

Adam Tobias' daughter, Destiny Tobias, tearfully expressed her devastation, referring to her father as her favourite person.

She clutched a photograph of him, displaying her grief during an unexpected interview with a local TV station.

The celebration had commenced on Thursday afternoon, and as the night progressed, people spilt out onto the streets.

At some point, Philip Arning, the boyfriend of the homeowner, arrived at the party.

But as the evening wore on, an argument erupted between Arning and Adam Tobias, escalating to a fatal conclusion.

Tragically, the joyful father was shot and killed on the front steps of the residence.

Following the incident, a GoFundMe campaign was initiated by the victim's niece, as the family is now facing financial hardship and unable to afford funeral expenses.

Griscelda Saucedo, the organizer of the fundraiser, described Adam Tobias as a loving husband, father, uncle, friend, son, and brother who meant everything to them.

She emphasized that his life did not deserve to end in such a manner, and the family is rallying together to give him the burial he deserves.

Saucedo also highlighted Adam Tobias' joyful nature, his constant smile, and his dedication to providing for his wife and children.

The Houston Police Department responded to the shooting call and found the victim suffering from gunshot wounds.

Despite the efforts of Houston Fire Department paramedics, Adam Tobias was pronounced dead at the scene.

Arning, who remained at the residence, was apprehended on Friday morning following the shooting.

He currently faces a murder charge and was detained in the Harris County Jail for several days.

However, he has since been released on a $50,000 bond, according to Harris County court records seen by Law&Crime.

Together, Perez and her husband had five sons, and she attested to his unwavering presence in their children's lives, emphasizing his dedication, no matter the circumstances.

According to the victim's family, the argument that led to the tragic outcome revolved around Adam Tobias' desire to spend more time with his daughter.

Perez described the act as a cold-blooded shot, stating that her husband had no chance to react.

A benefit event for the beloved father's family is reportedly scheduled for Saturday, June 3.

Philip Arning was charged in the 208th State District Court on Tuesday in relation to the incident.
