NAIROBI, April 26 (Xinhua) -- The death toll from heavy rains and flash flooding in Kenya has risen to 70, a government official said Friday.

"Contrary to other figures, the official tally of fellow Kenyans who regrettably have lost their lives due to the flooding situation now stands at 70 lives," government spokesman Isaac Mwaura said in an update issued in the capital Nairobi.
