The XPS 13 Plus has been orderable for a while now, with Dell releasing the laptop in April after a CES 2022 debut in January. However, Canonical has now certified the XPS 13 Plus Developer Edition for Ubuntu 22.04 Long Term Support (LTS). For reference, the XPS 13 Plus Developer Edition currently ships with Ubuntu 20.04 LTS.According to Canonical, Dell will start including Ubuntu 22.04 LTS in units that it dispatches from next month onwards. Incidentally, this means that the XPS 13 Plus Developer Edition will be the first device to ship with Ubuntu 22.04 LTS. Alternatively, you can already manually update an existing XPS 13 Plus Developer Edition from Ubuntu 20.04 LTS to Ubuntu 22.04 LTS.Canonical explains that Ubuntu 22.04 LTS contains the latest version of GNOME 42, which provides increased desktop performance with triple-buffering compared to Ubuntu 20.04 LTS, along with greater customisation options and improved control over power management settings, among other changes. Please see Canonical's release notes for the full changes that Ubuntu 22.04 LTS contains. The XPS 13 Plus Developer Edition starts at US$1,289, US$100 cheaper than the regular and Windows 11 Home-equipped model.Purchase the Apple AirPods Pro on Amazon
