In a suite at London’s lavish Corinthia Hotel, Diane von Furstenberg is seated next to Trish Dalton. A seasoned documentarian, Dalton directed the 77-year-old fashion designer’s new film Diane von Furstenberg: Woman In Charge with Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy. DVF (as the designer is familiarly known), has championed women since she marketed her signature wrap dress in 1974 as a sartorial badge of liberation (it famously features no zips or buttons). As a result, she has insisted that on the promotional tour for the documentary, she conducts interviews with the co-directors who led the female team behind the slick production.
