KUANTAN: Drug smugglers panicked and tossed a bag of syabu (methamphetamine) and ketum juice into Sungai Kuantan before making a desperate escape from the authorities about 0.5 nautical miles off Pulau Bewok near here today.

The panic-stricken suspects fled in their fiberglass boat into the darkness towards the riverbank, leaving behind a black bag containing the drugs, floating in the murky water.
