NEW DELHI - European Council president Antonio Costa arrived in India on Jan 25 , as the EU and New Delhi seek to seal a free trade pact, capping nearly two decades of negotiations between the economic behemoths.

Mr Costa and European Commission president Ursula von der Leyen are chief guests for the 2026 Republic Day celebrations in New Delhi on Jan 26 before an EU-India summit on Jan 27 , where they hope to shake hands on the accord,
