KUALA LUMPUR: Human-elephant encounters along the Gerik-Jeli East-West highway have become increasingly common, with the creatures frequently straying onto the road as they navigate their shrinking habitat.
The highway, which cuts through the critical Central Forest Spine corridor, has long been a hotspot for such conflicts, raising safety concerns for both motorists and wildlife.
