The man accused of kidnapping and murdering heiress Eliza Fletcher — a year after allegedly raping another woman at gunpoint — briefly appeared before a judge in Memphis on Monday.

Cleotha Abston-Henderson, 38, stood solemly at court in Shelby County, Tenn., while his public defender asked the judge for more time with her client. The Judge obliged and moved the hearing to September 28.
