Ellen Degeneres & Portia de Rossi’s Fresh Start in the UK Signals a Style Transformation
It looks like the move to the U.K. was the right one for Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi. Not only are they in a stunning contemporary Cotswolds farm, but they are also undergoing a chic style transformation.
The couple was spotted in London on July 29, and their stylish ensembles caught the eye of the paparazzi. (You can see the photos here.) DeGeneres opted out of her blondish-gray locks and committed to her short brunette hairstyle. De Rossi let her blonde bob grow out with side-swept bang, which looks quite sophisticated. They walked hand in hand down Bond Street, sporting sunglasses and a very tailored look.
De Rossi went for a monochromatic khaki look with capri cargo pants paired with a blazer, while DeGeneres opted for white jeans and a fitted blue cardigan. It felt like the fresh start really suited them as they happily strolled down the street. The former talk show host recently raved about their new home and why they love it so much.
“It’s absolutely beautiful. We’re just not used to seeing this kind of beauty. The villages and the towns and the architecture – everything you see is charming and it’s just a simpler way of life,” she said to broadcaster Richard Bacon at the Everyman Theatre during a July 20 chat, per the Daily Mail. “It’s clean. Everything here is just better – the way animals are treated, people are polite. I just love it here.”
Their move was directly related to the outcome of the November 2024 presidential election, but the 67-year-old comedian and the 52-year-old actress adapted quickly to U.K. living. “We moved here in November, which was not the ideal time, but I saw snow for the first time in my life. We love it here. Portia flew her horses here, and I have chickens, and we had sheep for about two weeks,” DeGeneres added.
The notorious house-flippers even had the time to purchase, renovate, and put their first home on the market already. “When we decided to live here full time, we knew that Portia couldn’t live without her horses,” DeGeneres told The Wall Street Journal. “We needed a home that had a horse facility and pastures for them.” Their first farm is selling for $30 million after they purchased it for $20 million in the spring of 2024.
With the couple settled into their dream home and de Rossi’s horses now in the U.K., it looks like the dynamic duo has put their California life behind them for good.
