Ellis is about to launch on Channel 5 in place of the beloved All Creatures Great and Small and the police drama follows no-nonsense Copper, DCI Ellis.

She is described as a tenacious and instinctive detective who is tasked with solving failing or difficult investigations.

Each of the three two-hour episodes sees Ellis and her right-hand man DS Harper arrive at a different police station, where she will have to win over the locals.
