Ash Palmisciano has played Matty Barton in Emmerdale since 2018. Ash’s early scenes as Matty saw him return to the village and sneak into Butlers Farm to try and retrieve his birth certificate so he could change his gender. Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) entered and mistook Matty for an intruder, but when Moira (Natalie J Robb) arrived, she instantly recognised him.
