Emmerdale star Charley Webb has been speaking about her excitement to take on a brand new role ahead of her return to TV acting this autumn.

The actress will swap television for theatre as she joins the cast of Quiz.

The play, written by James Graham, tells the story of Diana and Charles Ingram, who attempted to cheat on ITV’s Who Wants To Be A Millionaire by coughing to signify the correct answer.

The story was also told in an ITV drama back in 2020, with Sian Clifford and Matthew MacFadyen playing the roles of Diana and Charles, while Michael Sheen stunned everyone with his iconic performance as Chris Tarrant, who presented the show.

Charley will make her stage debut playing Diana, and announced the news of her casting on Instagram.

She wrote: ‘I’ve been so excited to announce this. I’ll be making my stage debut in Quiz as Diana Ingram, written by the amazing James Graham.
