Dame Kelly Holmesreflected on Queen Elizabeth IIand her bond with the military in an emotional tribute following her death.

The whole of Britain is in a period of national mourning following the sad news on Thursday (September 8) that the monarch has died aged 96, withbroadcasters including BBC and ITVrevising their schedules to honour Her Majesty.

Dame Kelly – who, like the Queen, served as a driver in the military – met her both in the Armed Forces and as an Olympian, and she paid her respects during an ITV News special on Friday.
