One of my favourite dishes to eat is dim sum. It’s my go-to brunch meal (and sometimes supper), especially on rainy weekends. If you’re as crazy aboutdim sum as I am, you might be interested in this event. Popular dim sum chain Sum Dim Sum is having a Dim sum & Dance on 13 May 2023 with free-flow dim sum and cocktails — yes please!

Sum Dim Sum opened their first outlet in 2020 in Jalan Besar. Since then, they have garnered quite a loyal following and have opened two more outlets in Punggol and Bedok. The latter was opened in January of this year and to celebrate its grand opening, they’re hosting a one-day-only dim sum and dance event — all for just S$59.

While the menu has yet to be released, we’re hoping that the classics like BBQ Pork Pastry, Golden Liu Sha Bao as well as the restaurant’s Signature Pandan Crispy Pork Bun and Egg Tarts will be making an appearance.

My personal favourites are the BBQ Pork Rice Roll, Mala Dumplings, Xiao Long Bao and Pan Fried Carrot Cake so fingers crossed that these will also be featured on the buffet menu. Although, even if they’re not on the menu, you can still make a trip down to enjoy these dishes — they’re really that good.

Apart from enjoying freeflow dim sum and cocktails, the event will also feature a lineup of musical guests with performances from popular Bangkok band Rosalyn as well as a special setlist from DJ Eden. Seeing that dim sum has its roots in Hong Kong, homegrown Canto Rock Band, 超粵, will also be taking the stage to perform some canto hits.

SDS will also be releasing a line of merch called ‘WEAR’. The line will include a bucket hat, hoodie, baseball cap, socks, tote bag and t-shirts — why stop at eating dim sum when you can wear it too! BRB as I’m currently in the midst of choosing between the two t-shirts because they’re both so cool, it’s hard to just pick one.
