KUALA LUMPUR: The former chief executive officer (CEO) of 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) said he had been barred from travelling abroad to prevent him from disappearing.

Datuk Shahrol Azral Ibrahim Halmi said he did not know about the travel ban until reading stories about the possibility of him being arrested when the previous Barisan Nasional (BN) led government was toppled in the 14th General Election (GE14).
