Canadian actress Linda Chung has opened up about her family life.

In a recent web interview, the 41-year-old shared how she first met her husband, Chinese-Canadian chiropractor Jeremy Leung.

“I didn’t have many friends, so my older sister wanted to find someone who had just returned from overseas, didn’t speak Chinese and didn’t know I was in showbiz,” she said.

What began as a simple friendship soon grew into something more. The turning point came when paparazzi once followed her, and Leung calmly reassured her over the phone.

“I felt so comfortable. During that call, I confessed to him and asked if he liked me too,” she said.

The couple married in 2015 and are now parents of three children.

While Chung spends a lot of her time raising the kids in Canada, she still flies back to Hong Kong for work.

However, she admitted that the demands of motherhood sometimes leave her husband "feeling a little neglected".

“When I fly back (to Canada), the kids always come running to me. My husband also opens his arms to hug me.

“But the moment I see the children, it’s as if I don’t see him. I rush to embrace them first, and Jeremy would pout,” she said.

With three little ones keeping them busy, proper date nights are rare. The couple only sneaks in short outings when their parents help to babysit.

“Jeremy always wants to watch a movie with me, but even after 10 years of marriage, we’ve never actually finished one together.

“He says I never make it through a film with him, but I’m just so tired. After a day of taking care of the kids, cooking and cleaning, all I want to do at night is sleep,” she said with a laugh.

Chung shared that her husband once told her his biggest wish was simply to finish a movie together.

She added that she’s now making an effort to spend more time with him.
