You might recognise ‘90s Hong Kong actor Bobby Yip (八兩金) for his appearances in comedies God of Cookery (1996) and Those Were The Days (1997).

Known for his bowl-cut hairdo, Bobby has also been called... “Hong Kong’s ugliest actor”.

Bobby, 71, recently found himself making headlines, no thanks to scathing accusations made by his ex-wife, Polly Ho.

Polly recently sat for an interview in which she spoke about the “evil deeds” Bobby committed during their marriage. According to Polly, Bobby used to sponge off her and claimed he asked her to get a job in real estate and then ask her for money.

Polly also accused Bobby of domestic violence. She said it happened a few times a week, and it was once so bad, she had bruises all over her face. She claimed to have asked the police for help on one occasion.

Polly reportedly left Bobby in 1997 after the economic crisis. At that time, it was claimed that Polly left home because of Bobby’s financial situation.

Addressing the incident, Polly said the real reason was Bobby’s infidelity. She often found herself in tears, and once tried to “jump onto train tracks” while carrying their five-month-old son.

She later found a drawer in their home that Bobby always kept locked. In it, she claimed to have found photos and videos of Bobby and his different girlfriends.

She was heartbroken by what she saw, and said it was the final straw.

In 2023, it was reported that Bobby and Polly had reconciled.

According to Polly’s latest account, their reunion was a farce.

She said Bobby was diagnosed with cancer, and he wished for someone take care of him. Though she did not reveal the type of cancer he is battling, she said she found out about it in 2023, and claims he only has about “a few months left to live”.

However, when asked by the media, Bobby firmly denied having cancer. He also accused his ex-wife of being “abnormal” and “crazy”, and said she would “suffer retribution” for her alleged misdeeds.
