F1 champion Max Verstappen on pole for season-opening Bahrain GP
SAKHIR, Bahrain - Red Bull’s reigning world champion Max Verstappen took the first pole position of the Formula One season in Bahrain on March 1, with Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc alongside him on the front row.
Mercedes’ George Russell qualified third and Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz fourth under the Sakhir floodlights.
