Factory ordered shut down over air pollution from coconut shell burning

KUBANG PASU: A coconut shell processing factory producing carbon black has been slapped with an immediate stop-work order for causing air pollution that led to discomfort among nearby residents.
Carbon black is a fine powder produced by burning coconut shells, widely used as a reinforcing agent in rubber products and as a black pigment in inks and plastics.
