Sharmili Ahmed, a veteran Bangladeshi actress, died at 75.
Her family friend, actor Shahid Ali, confirmed the news to the press.

Following the news of Sharmili's death, fellow actors and fans paid tribute in droves.
Her sister Wahida Mollick Jolly, also an actor, said she would be laid to rest alongside her husband in the Banani graveyard.
Sharmili Ahmed, born on May 8, 1947, in Murshidabad, began acting in films in 1964.
She appeared in over 400 dramas and 150 films, winning numerous awards.
