All my friends know that I am head over heels in love with Korean fried chicken — I believe it’s the best kind of fried chicken.

Although you can find plenty of authentic Korean eateriesserving the good stuff (chimaek, anyone?) on our shores, here’s a piece of news that’s guaranteed to whip fried chicken fanatics like you and me into a frenzy.

One of Korea’s leading fried chicken chains, BHC Chicken, will be opening its long-awaited first Singapore outlet at Marina Square! You may have spotted the chain at a pop-up booth at ZoukOut 2022, but this is a proper physical store with the option to dine in.

With over 1,000 outlets in South Korea, it’s no surprise that BHC (“Better & Happier Choice”) would eventually come to Southeast Asia, with the first Malaysia outlet opening in Kuala Lumpur in November 2022.

And come April 2023 (during the latter half of the month), we’ll finally get our fix of the chain’s signature chicken that’s fried in sunflower oil.

I can’t wait to get my hands on the iconic Bburinkle Chicken, crispy and juicy fried chicken coated with cheese and a vegetable-flavoured seasoning.

Other items you can look forward to are the Macho King, drenched in a honey-based oriental sauce, and the spicy Red King, that’s topped with red hot chilli peppers and garlic.

BHC is also known for its cheesy snacks, including the BBuring Fries, Bburing Cheese Sticks, and Bburing Sotteok (sausage and rice cake skewers).

Let’s hope they also bring in the Bburing and Sweet & Crispy Cheese Balls — chewy, mochi-like fried mozzarella-filled balls that look oh-so-fun to eat.

Do note that no news has been released as to whether BHC Chicken Singapore will be halal-certified.
