We’ve seen our fair share of stars getting mobbed and harassed by overzealous fans, and looks like Chinese idol Yu Yuhan has had enough.

The 20-year-old was caught on camera lashing out at a female “sasaeng” — obsessive fans who invades a celebrity’s private life — after his car was allegedly followed and surrounded last week.

Footage circulating online showed several women gathered around his vehicle and filming through the windows.

One woman allegedly repeatedly yanked at the car door while the vehicle was still moving and shoved her phone close to Yuhan’s face to film him.

That appeared to be the last straw.

An enraged Yuhan got out of the car and appeared to swing his fist at her while shouting: “Are you sick?”

He knocked her phone away but did not hit her.

Yet even after the confrontation, the fans reportedly refused to leave, continuing to gather around the vehicle and film him.

After the incident went viral, many netizens were sympathetic towards Yuhan, saying the fans had seriously crossed the line by following his car, trying to open its door and filming him at such close range.

“Respecting other people’s private lives is the most basic bottom line,” wrote one netizen.

Others pointed out that Yuhan is known for his mild temperament and felt the harassment must have pushed him beyond his limit.

His fans have since called on his agency, TF Entertainment, to beef up security for its artistes.

Yuhan’s fan club also released a statement urging the company to deploy more security personnel and take legal action against sasaeng fans if their behaviour breaks the law.
