Fazzrudin elected new FAS president after opponent withdraws

KUCHING (June 14): Dato Fazzrudin Abdul Rahman has been elected as the new president of the Football Association of Sarawak (FAS) after sole challenger Dr Mohd Shafiq Abdullah withdrew from the contest today at the FAS Annual General Meeting (AGM) held at a local hotel.
Datuk Hamzah Brahim was elected unopposed as the deputy president after his challenger and incumbent Abang Suhordie Abang Zaini also withdrew from the contest.
Those who won the vice president posts were Sophie Shariee, Khairulddin Qalam Daud, Khairul Anuar Aden, Mohd Haical Abdullah and Nicol Agoi.
The results were announced by former FAS president Abang Zulkarnain Abang Abdul Rahman.
Other posts such as the secretary, assistant secretary, treasurer, assistant treasurer and committee members will be appointed by the president later.
