Ferris Bueller Star Mia Sara Made Her First Red Carpet Appearance in 14 Years & Showed Off Her Gray Hair
Ferris Bueller’s Day Off star Mia Sara is back on the red carpet for an ultra-rare appearance after 14 years.
The 57-year-old actress was glowing at the premiere of her film The Life of Chuck after taking a hiatus from acting back in 2013. Sara was all smiles as she posed in a black wrap top and navy pencil skirt with her cropped hair pushed back to show off her beautiful gray hair.
Sara was joined on the red carpet by co-stars like Kate Siegel, Tom Hiddleston, Benjamin Pajak, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Mark Hamill, Karen Gillan, and Carl Lumbly, who all appear in the adaptation of Stephen King’s 2020 science fiction novella.
Sara is perhaps best known for her role as Sloane Peterson in Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, the love interest of Matthew Broderick’s titular character. She also led the ABC miniseries Queenie in 1987 and played Harley Quinn in the DC series Birds of Prey in the early 2000s.
In 2013, Sara stepped away from acting to focus on writing, appearing in a variety of literary journals. She is also a mom of two. Sara welcomed son Dashiell Quinn Connery in 2002 with ex-husband Jason Connery, the son of actor Sean Connery. Three years after they divorced in 2002, Sara welcomed her daughter with her now-husband Brian Henson. They married in 2010.
In The Life of Chuck, which follows the life events of Charles “Chuck” Krantz (Hiddleston) in reverse chronological order, Sara plays Chuck’s grandmother. Her scenes are primarily with Pajak and Jacob Tremblay, who play the younger version of Hiddleston’s character, and Hamil, who plays her husband.
