It’s been a pretty exciting week for fans of Fire Emblem: Three Houses. Not only did Nintendo and Sora Ltd. announced that Byleth, the main protagonist from Three Houses, will be joining Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as the fifth Fighters Pass DLC character, but Nintendo also announced what will be included in wave four of the DLC for Three Houses itself. It looks like Nintendo may have been saving the best for last in terms of Three Houses DLC. The DLC will add a new side story called “Cindered Shadows,” which will send players to the tunnels beneath Garreg Mach Monastery. It’s there that we’ll meet the Ashen Wolves, who claim to be a “fourth house” that’s been hiding beneath the monastery all this time. That’s quite the development, and though the Ashen Wolves may not be as large as the other three houses, they will offer a handful of characters that players can recruit. Cindered Shadows will introduce Balthus, Hapi, Yuri, and Constance, who all have special classes that aren’t normally obtainable in the base game.Cindered Shadows is included in the Three Houses expansion pass, which runs $25. For those who don’t already own Three Houses, the expansion pass is available in a bundle with the base game for $84.98. Judging by the Three Houseswebsite, it seems that Cindered Shadows may be the final release in the expansion pass. Originally, Nintendo said that the fourth wave of Three Houses DLC would be out before April 30th, 2020. It seems it’ll exceed that goal and then some, as with this announcement, it gave Cindered Shadows a release date of February 12th, 2020. We’ll probably learn more about the DLC in between now and release day, so stay tuned for that.
