PETALING JAYA: Foundpac Group Bhd
has announced that a fire broke out at a factory operated by its wholly-owned subsidiary, FP Stencil Sdn Bhd (FPS), at Batu Maung, Penang.
In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, FoundPac said the fire incident occurred in the evening of Sunday, June 14, 2026 and did not result in any casualties or injuries to the workers at the factory.
“FPS is principally engaged in the manufacture and sale of laser stencils. The cause of the fire incident is currently under investigation.
“At this juncture, the board is unable to accurately ascertain the full extent of the damage to the machinery, equipment and other assets at the affected factory, or to determine the resultant financial and operational impact on the group.”
In the meantime, FoundPac said FPS has implemented the necessary mitigation in outsourcing orders to approved contract manufacturers for the affected process to minimise the temporary disruption to production.
“Based on the preliminary assessment conducted to-date, the board believes that the incident is not expected to have a material impact on its overall financial position or operations. Further announcements will be made as and when there are material developments arising from the ongoing investigations.”
FoundPac said the plant and machinery and other assets of FPS are covered under an insurance policy, adding that FPS has notified the insurer accordingly.
Meanwhile, the landlord of the premise who owns the land and building has the building covered under its own insurance policy, said FoundPac.
