First Look: Newly Opened Starbucks Chinatown’s Exclusive Limited Edition Merch & Local-Inspired Menu
Sip, shop, and snack your way through Starbucks’ most unique outlet yet in Chinatown
Singapore’s Chinatown has a new reason for coffee lovers to stop by. Starbucks has officially opened its first-ever store in a heritage shophouse — right in the heart of 37 Smith Street.
This unique location offers more than your usual cuppa; it blends the charm of local culture with the familiar comforts of the Starbucks experience.
A Sip of Heritage: Starbucks Opens a Unique Two-Storey Outlet in Chinatown Singapore
The newly launched store is more than just another outlet — it’s a thoughtful space designed with the local community in mind. With earthy tones, a welcoming ambience, and curated seating areas, the interior draws inspiration from traditional aesthetics while keeping things modern and inclusive.
At the heart of the experience is a life-sized Merlion Bearista, ready for photo ops — a playful nod to Singapore’s icon and a warm welcome to patrons stepping into this heritage-inspired café.
Inside, guests will find a dedicated retail space that brings together heritage and creativity. A highlight is the JunleFont x Starbucks collection, created in collaboration with Singaporean artist Lele (樂樂). This range of mugs, tumblers, tote bags, and a chopstick set (launching 25 April) showcases expressive calligraphy rooted in storytelling and local artistry.
Also exclusive to this outlet are plush collectibles like the Samsui Bearista Plush Keychain (available from 25 April) and Lion Dance Series merchandise – all tying back to Singapore’s cultural icons.
Beyond merchandise, the menu pays homage to Singapore’s rich food heritage. Visitors can look forward to comforting bites such as:
XL Chicken Char Siew Puff
Laksa Mac & Cheese Pie
Nonya Chicken Curry Prata Pie
Chicken Luncheon, Tamago & Cheese Brioche Bun
Coffee Bolo Bun with Butter
For those with a sweet tooth, timeless treats await:
Java Chip Frappuccino® Swiss Roll
Lychee Swiss Roll
Pandan Chiffon Cake
Coffee Egg Tarts
Coffee lovers can sip on Chinatown exclusives that reinterpret familiar flavours:
Yuan Yang (Coffee & Tea) Coffee Frappuccino®
Black Sesame Oatmilk Coffee Frappuccino® with Soy Pudding
Both drinks offer a harmonious balance of rich, nutty, and creamy notes — inspired by classic kopitiam pairings and local desserts.
Also making its debut is the Starbucks® Gem Icing Cookie, a playful take on Singapore’s beloved childhood snack. Topped with colourful icing in green, pink, and yellow, this adorable cookie is both a visual and nostalgic delight.
It’s set to be available from 23 April, exclusively at the 37 Smith Street outlet — perfect for gifting or pairing with your favourite brew.
With the launch of this flagship outlet at 37 Smith Street, Starbucks has woven together art, heritage, and comfort into one thoughtful space. Whether you’re here for a quick coffee, a unique souvenir, or to enjoy a locally inspired pastry, the experience is one to remember.
