If there’s one thing Singaporeans are known for, it’s efficiency... and of course that includes the way we communicate with one another.
Rarely do we stop to consider that the way we say or spell certain words can be a learning curve for those new to Singapore.
That could be what prompted this helpful foreigner, who is based in Singapore, to turn to Xiaohongshu and share a list of abbreviations we often use.

gee is always complaining about nobody but the locals. at first, they peached that these outsiders would be integrathing into our society instead they brought their bad habits and customs into red dot. now gee said it's the local ppl who caused them confusion. what the fish! 4 gee is such a confused lot!!!

Only the youngsters and our gahmen. Youngsters like to use abbreviations to show off their sophistication and to cut time in writing them. Can you believe it when they insist to use lol to tell you to "laugh out loud"? What's there to laugh out loud? Decades ago, nobody liked to laugh out loud so often. Our gahmen like to introduce new schemes in housing, grants and whatever they can think of. Even your total fertility rate is now shortened as TFR. Save time & save the effort to produce babies.

and which is why at the end of the day we must always make sure to remain cautious and virgilant at all times regardless of the difficulties that we would have to contend with and ensure that we are safe especially in the midst of this period of situations and circumstances as well too .
