Former senior ST journalist Bertha Henson takes mainstream media to task

A former senior journalist who spent 26 years at the Singapore Press Holdings, mainly working for SPH’s flagship English publication The Straits Times, has criticised the mainstream media (MSM) for its standard of reporting.
In a Facebook post written in the style of a Forum letter, Ms Bertha Henson addressed the mainstream media saying: “Dear MSM, What in heaven’s name is happening to you?”

The current batch are almost all hypnotized and being programmed to do what as being told. It's an example of a kid asking his/her parents alot of questions with expected answers and his/her parents would reply, shut up and what you are supposed to know, you would know and what you are not supposed to know, you don't have to know.

We need more people like BH. We dont expect you to take side, just report facts...what's right and proper. If you're afraid that might offend some big deals, then journalism isnt your call. Should change your vocation. Heard the Yes/No dept has an openning.
