Taiwan-based electronics giant Hon Hai Precision Industry Co., widely known as Foxconn, is set to develop AI infrastructure hardware in Ohio under a partnership with ChatGPT creator OpenAI, the company’s chairman said.

Hon Hai will begin research and development in San Jose, California, before shifting production to its Ohio facility, which was previously used for EV manufacturing and is now focused on AI data centers.
