PETALING JAYA: Who will be Teo Ee Yi’s new partner?

A split between Ee Yi and his partner Ong Yew Sin is set to take place after only Ee Yi was signed by local sports brand Felet, without the presence of Yew Sin.

Ee Yi was previously with Chinese brand Li-Ning when he turned independent with Yew Sin in 2020.

This time, however, he has chosen to sign with Felet, a brand that also originates from his hometown of Muar, Johor.

This move also puts to rest speculation that he was set to retire, but raises question on who his new partner will be.

“I’ve chosen to continue chasing my dreams and want to enjoy the challenges on court,” said the 32-year-old Ee Yi.

“This is merely a change of sponsor and does not affect my career progress or plans.”

According to reliable sources, Ee Yi could be paired with Chia Weijie.

Weijie is currently training with the independent squad in Sri Petaling and has been partnering Lwi Sheng Hao.
