Friends Twins Who Played Ross & Rachel's Baby, Now 23, Are So Grown Up in Rare Life Update
The one where the baby is all grown up.
Indeed, if you ever wondered what happened to the babies who played Ross Gellar (David Schwimmer) and Rachel Green’s (Jennifer Aniston) daughter Emma on Friends, look no further.
Twin sisters Athena Conley and Alexandra Conley—who were six months old at the time of their breakout role—shared a rare life update, revealing that after stepping away from Hollywood following their time on the series, the siblings, now 23, went on to graduate from California Polytechnic State University in 2024.
"It's actually crazy because growing up, I always just knew I was on Friends, but I didn't really know what that meant,” Alexandra told People in an interview published July 1. “It didn't hit me, I think until like maybe like middle school or even like early high school, how big that was."
"And then I watched the show, and now I'm obsessed with Friends,” she continued. “It's one of my favorite shows ever. So, watching it now and seeing ourselves I'm like, 'This is crazy,'”
As for Athena, she recently gave the world a little reminder of her and Alexandra’s breakout role on TikTok.
In a video shared to the platform May 25, she participated in the viral “Holly Airball” trend, noting in the first slide, “I told him I was on TV as a baby.” After the following slide questioned if she did “Gerber commercials” the third pic is a screengrab from Friends, Ross while Rachel talks to someone in front of them.
Captioning the moment, Athena wrote, “Favorite fun fact.”
Baby Emma made her debut at the end of season 8, with Athena and Alexandra playing the role until season 9.
"Funny story, actually: they ended up replacing us because I did cry too much," Alexandra told People. With her Athena adding, “They couldn't use just one baby the whole time due to child labor laws, so they had to replace us after season 9 with a new pair of twins."
According to Athena and Alexandra, their mother had nothing but good things to say about their time on the set of the series, which also starred Matthew Perry, Courteney Cox, Matt LeBlanc and Lisa Kudrow.
"She said that all of the cast members were so nice and they were all hilarious, just cracking jokes the whole time,” Athena said. “She felt like she was like watching the show even when filming wasn't taking place."
And being part of a show with a lasting impact provided a lasting memory for the twins as well.
"The show continues to resonate,” Athena said. “Because the characters are all so relatable, and I think that makes the audience kind of feel like they're part of the group, which is really special.”
