From Meh To Messy: Ranking The Most Memorable Dino Kills In The Jurassic Movies
Warning: This story contains spoilers.
Let’s face it — dinosaurs and humans don’t play well together. When you throw them in the mix, someone’s bound to get hurt — or worse, wind up dead.
Before you check out Jurassic World Rebirth — where the majestic creatures, both familiar (hello, T-Rex!) and new (hello, D-Rex), crank up the bedlam and body count — here’s a look, in descending order, at the franchise’s 10 most memorable dinosaur kills so far.
If you’re game for more prehistoric action, make your way down to Junction 8, SingPost Centre, and Tampines Mall for the Jurassic World Rebirth: Colossal Dinosaur Experience.

From The Lost World: Jurassic Park (1997)
As the T-Rex does a Godzilla in San Diego, it only has time to snack on one poor doggy… and just one random bystander (is she a picky eater?). The aptly named ‘Unlucky Bast**d’ (played by the movie’s screenwriter David Koepp) tries to take cover in a video rental store, only to end up in the T-Rex’s tummy. Truly suay.

From Jurassic World: Dominion (2022)
Chaos erupts in the streets of Valletta, Malta, when captive dinosaurs escape from black market, including an Allosaurus that makes a happy meal out of one unsuspecting e-scooter rider. If you have issues with errant e-riders, you’d project all the hatred unto him – and honestly, it felt good. (I would’ve settled for an influencer too, but let’s not go there.) Fun fact: that Scooter Guy is one Terry Thompson, who landed the calefare role after winning a charity challenge organised by Chris Pratt. So maybe he’s not unlucky after all.

From Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (2018)
Mercenary boss and avid dino teeth collector Ken Wheatley (Ted Levine) tries to extract a fang from a sedated Indoraptor. Unbeknownst to him, the hybrid dinosaur is only pretending to be sedated. (Guess he skipped the memo about the Indoraptor having bulletproof skin?) The movie’s only memorable death is grisly, but we saw it coming from a mile away.

From Jurassic World (2015)
Amid the pandemonium in the theme park, Zara (Supergirl’s Katie McGrath), Bryce Dallas Howard’s PA, is snatched by a Pteranodon and dropped into the lagoon. She then gets scooped up by another Pteranodon but before it flies off with the catch of the day, the Mosasaurus jumps out of the water and devours them both. There’s always a bigger fish.
5of 10
From The Lost World: Jurassic Park (1997)
Let’s take a moment to remember field equipment expert Eddie Carr (Richard Schiff) who valiantly sacrificed himself to save his pals (Jeff Goldblum, Julianne Moore and Vince Vaughn) from falling off a cliff in their trailer with his SUV. He didn’t deserve the death he got: to be torn in half by two T-Rexes. Eddie Carr, we barely knew you.

From Jurassic World Rebirth (2025)
It’s hard to believe that the Spinosaurus has only made one appearance in the franchise — in Jurassic Park III. New discoveries (watch ‘The River Dragon’ episode of Walking with Dinosaurs) suggested it also hunted in the water. Watching them attack Scarlett Johansson & Co. aboard a ship en route to a forbidden island — once home to the original Jurassic Park’s research facility — evokes strong Jaws vibes. Thrilling and terrifying. Don’t bother with the ‘new’ mutant dino, Distortus Rex or D-Rex — it’s overrated and mostly skulking in shadows.
7of 10
From Jurassic Park III (2001)
A pair of raptors set a trap for Dr Alan Grant (Sam Neill) & Co. by leaving a wounded mercenary (Michael Jeter) out in the open. The ploy fails and the pissed off raptors retaliate by snapping the bait’s neck like a twig. These beasts really take things personally, don’t they? Did the scientists mixed their DNA with Steven Seagal’s?
8of 10
From Jurassic Park (1993)
Company turncoat Dennis Nedry (Wayne Night) gets his comeuppance when he’s blinded by the venom spat from a “stupid” Dilophosaurs. It gets better: he is trapped in a Jeep with one. Dinner is served! Never mind how the Dilophosaurs manages to sneak into the vehicle (there must be two of them, right?), the build up to Dennis’ demise is nerve-wracking.
9of 10
From The Lost World: Jurassic Park (1997)
A group of clueless hunters make the fatal mistake of taking a short cut through a patch of long grass where they are stealthily picked off one by one by the gambolling raptors. We’ve seen the raptors out-manoeuver their prey before in Jurassic Park (RIP, game warden Muldoon) but here, we see these cunning predators operate on a larger scale.
10of 10
From Jurassic Park (1993)
Oh yes, the T-Rex’s first on-screen kill: the “bloodsucking lawyer” Donald Gennaro (Martin Ferrero) hiding in the public loo. Gennaro’s iconic death (Rexy chomps on him, head first; it’s never clear if he’s food or a chew toy) sets the tricky tone for the rest of the movie (and franchise): PG13-friendly carnage that’s frightening and funny at the same time.
Jurassic World Rebirth (PG13) is now in cinemas.
