Furry friends are not forgotten in SG60 celebrations
SINGAPORE – Singapore turns 60 this National Day and while we celebrate the nation’s diamond jubilee, four-legged friends can also join in the fun. These Singa-paw-reans have their own special promotions, from wholesome treats to sunset cruises.

Home-grown pet food manufacturer PetCubes has created several local hawker dishes for dogs and cats as part of its National Day celebration.
Start the meal with Braised Duck Rice ($10.50), a gourmet feast made from duck meat, which supports healthy skin and muscles; duck neck, which provides natural calcium; and duck hearts rich in taurine and iron.
The duck, served with yam and brown rice, is cooked with five-spice, which is rich in antioxidants and has anti-inflammatory and cognition-boosting capabilities.
Complete the meal with an indulgent scoop of Kaya Toast Ice Cream ($6.90) infused with pandan, a natural antioxidant that supports muscle recovery post-exercise.
All items are free of preservatives and made from 100 per cent human-grade ingredients.
The SG60 Bundle for adult dogs and cats ($60) includes a case of Braised Duck Rice (four trays), a tub of Kaya Toast Ice Cream, a packet of Chicken Breast Jerky Treats, a bottle of duck broth and a bottle of kelp supplement.
The limited-edition SG60 National Day products are available at PetCubes online store (
) and all Pet Lovers Centre outlets. CDC vouchers can be used at selected Pet Lovers Centre retailers.

For some nostalgic snacks, there is the White Rabbit Candy-inspired Milky Biscuits ($7.90). The goat’s milk and organic oat version is suitable for dogs, cats and hamsters. The coconut and organic oat variation is for rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters and dogs that need vegan treats.
The SG60 Specials treats are available online (
) and at its Toa Payoh Lorong 7 store, which accepts CDC vouchers.
Every donation takes Causes For Animals a step closer to a Singapore where every dog and cat has a full belly, a clean bill of health and a shot at a forever home.

Animal welfare charity Causes For Animals (CAS) is seeking support for the stray and abandoned dogs and cats in its shelter.
Donations to the CAS SG60 fundraiser, on until Aug 11, will help the animals in various ways. For instance, a $10 donation provides food for one dog for a day and $15 covers yearly core vaccinations for one cat or dog. A $50 donation ensures an animal gets full preventive care treatment, including vaccination, deworming and heartworm or tick fever prevention.
Donations can be made via PayPal, PayNow or at Giving.sg. CAS also accepts donated CDC vouchers. Go to
