G-Dragon's Banking Confession On Talk Show Stuns Hosts
K-pop superstar G-Dragon is a man of many talents. The 38-year-old Big Bang leader is a singer, rapper, songwriter, entrepreneur, and pretty much K-pop royalty — but did you know there’s one thing he can’t do?
Appearing alongside members Taeyang and Daesung on the latest episode of web talk show Pinggyego, G-Dragon revealed that he doesn't know how to use mobile banking.
The topic came up when host Haha started talking about self-service kiosks that seem to be everywhere these days, from restaurants and supermarkets to clinics and even banks.
He lamented about how they can sometimes be tricky to use, which led him to ask co-host Yoo Jae Suk if he knew how to use another form of technology: mobile banking.
While Jae Suk confidently said he does, Haha admitted that he doesn’t, with G-Dragon chiming in: “I can’t.”
GD's sudden admission left the hosts stunned, with them jokingly asking what he would do “with all the assets he has” if he can’t even use mobile banking.
“I have someone who handles it,” G-Dragon chuckled, referring to his wealth manager.
“Even with a manager, you [should still] check it yourself,” Jae Suk asserted, while Haha exclaimed, “You trust people that much?”
While Taeyang said he generally uses mobile banking and only heads to the bank in person every now and then, G-Dragon explained that he's more used to doing things face-to-face.
“I’ll go in and talk to someone when I need to, but I can’t do any of the [mobile] stuff myself,” he said.
Daesung then agreed, saying he also finds it more convenient to deal directly with bank employees rather than an automated system, even calling customer service representatives whenever he needs to handle his banking matters.
Now who knew that some of K-pop's biggest stars were so... old school?
