Would you like to play a game with me?

You’ve heard that line before… except this time, it’s not just a line and there’s no escape.

Welcome to the (non-deadly) Squid Game: The Experience in Seoul.

In preparation for the upcoming third season of the hit Netflix series, there’s no better way to anticipate the show’s return than to experience it yourself in its home base!

After all, doing something is always more fun than just watching.

Here’s everything you need to know to survive this immersive experience.

Located in the S Factory, the venue has been divided into four zones — mainly the game zone, retail zone, night market, and the VIP lounge.

That’s right, you can even pretend to be one with the VIPs by purchasing a VIP Ticket to gain access to the VIP lounge and a complimentary drink.

Or take on humble beginnings like Gi-hun by purchasing a General Ticket for access to just the game experience.

First, choose whether you want to fuel up on food and merchandise available at the retail zone and night market.

The retail zone is loaded with Squid Game merchandise, including plushies of the pink guards and the creepy killer doll Young-hee (no guarantee she won’t watch you in your sleep).

Try themed snacks like Young-hee’s Gimbap and Dalgona Latte, befitting of the show’s iconic symbols.

For something more filling, the night market has Korean-style snacks and beverages to keep you satisfied.

Now, no more stalling! Players, it’s time to report to the arena.

I’m not lying when I say every detail has been taken into account to make this as immersive as possible.

Before you even begin, you have to get your face scanned and receive a wristband that automatically calculates your score.

Then, up to 30 participants, including yourself (Thankfully, you won’t be competing with hundreds) will compete against each other in a series of six games.

Some of the games are taken from the show, including the quintessential Red Light, Green Light, Tug-Of-War, and Memory Steps. Others slightly differ from the originals like the Treasure Hunt and Round & Round.

Regardless, you’ll practically be sucked into the show with how the experience’s sets are almost complete replicas of the show’s original scenes.

Whether you’re scrambling to find hidden tokens in the neighbourhood setting or you’re first welcomed into the experience at the dormitory, the details are spot-on.If you don’t think you’re the competitive type, think again. After competing in these games, the top six will play a final game at a triangular table (Yes, that same table from the final dinner scene of the show’s first season) for one final winner to emerge.

Before you go, make sure to snap some photos at the photo zones to pat yourself on the back for your bravery and commemorate your experience.
