Get your fix of Korean bomboloni and twisted donuts in flavours like tiramisu & biscoff, alongside the viral cheesy coin bread at Donas 8 in Great World
Viral Korean donuts in Singapore? Yes, you heard me right.
We first covered Donas 8, the adorable pretty-in-pink donut kiosk situated within Korean lifestyle concept Market Blue, back in February 2023.

To no one’s surprise, they’ve just opened a second stall at Great World, with an extensive (and very enticing) range of donuts, including Korean kkwabaegi, or twisted donuts.

I had my first taste of ’em from that one famous Gwangjang Market stall during my recent trip to Seoul, and they were so good I went back for seconds.
So, if you’ve yet to try kkwabaegi, or like me, are nursing some serious cravings, now’s your chance to get your hands on some right here in Singapore!

Donas 8’s rendition of twisted donuts comes in six flavours: Tiramisu (S$5.50), Oreo (S$5.50), Biscoff (S$5.50), Strawberry (S$5.50), Caramel (S$5.50), and Plain (S$3.90).
Fun and aesthetically pleasing toppings aside, the donutsthemselves are tasty, but a lot denser than expected — they’re just not as airy or chewy as the ones you can find in Korea.

Out of the three donut options offered, the kkwabaegi easily sells out the fastest every day, so be prepared to come early if you want to snag your preferred flavours.

Those who prefer the traditional filled Bomboloni (S$5.50) can choose from an array of classic flavours, including the likes of Strawberry, Chocolate, Matcha, and Custard. I did find the custardy fillings to be on the subtle side, flavour-wise, which wasn’t to my liking.

And of course, you can always go for the chewy chapssal (sweet glutinous rice flour) donuts, all of which are priced at S$3.20 each. Despite the cream cheese and red bean paste filling, they never fail to remind me of Chinese fried sesame balls.

You can purchase these donuts in boxes of three, five, nine, or even 15, with mix-and-match options that’ll let you try different flavours.
The Picnic Day (S$24.90) box, for instance, comprises 1pc Twisted Donut, 3pcs Chewy Donuts, and 2pcs Bomboloni, and as the name suggests, it’s absolutely perfect for picnicdates and cosy gatherings.

Keep a lookout for the launch of other street food staples, like the viral cheesy coin bread you see all over TikTok — I’ll be paying Donas 8 at Great World a second visit just for that!
