A giant inflatable dog caused a stir on the road when it tried to make a break for it in Guangzhou last week.

The dog, which was part of a display at a park in Huangpu, was blown onto the streets by strong winds.

A netizen posted a video of an inflatable corgi sprawled across three lanes of the road as a dozen people tried to roll it to the side.

"Whose dog got blown away! You said you'd keep the leash on properly when walking the dog!” captioned the post.

Other videos showed the dog tumbling along the road as cars tried to avoid it.

It finally came to a stop after rolling over vehicles parked along the shoulder and rested on its back.

Some netizens speculated that the dog had been “knocked down by Ultraman”, while others joked it had chosen to “tang ping” or “lie flat”, referring to the mindset of lying down instead of being a productive member of society.

No one was hurt by the road hazard but the dog was not so fortunate.

According to witnesses, the management responsible for dog soon arrived at the scene to deflate the dog and remove it from the road, preventing potential traffic congestion or accidents.
