It looks like Shen Jiarun, the daughter of Chinese actor Xiao Shenyang, has not let the haters get to her. 

The 19-year-old has had to deal with mean comments about her looks for most of her life. In 2014, Jiarun and her dad appeared on reality show, The First Time. She was only eight, but netizens somehow found it appropriate to call her "the ugliest celeb kid".

Comments were so harsh, Shenyang said he regretted letting his daughter be in the public eye.

The awful nickname followed Jiarun through her growing up years, but she's now ready to take her haters down. 

She is now signed to South Korean label BNB Music, and will be making her solo debut under the stage name Nina. Her first album, titled 'Never Afraid', will drop June 19. 

Jiarun is fluent in English, Mandarin, and Korean, and can sing and dance. In fact, during Shenyang's concert in May, Jiarun performed as a surprise guest, showing the audience just what she is capable of. 

Just two years ago, Jiarun received attention online for "glowing up", with some saying she looked like a young version of Korean actress Gong Hyo Jin.

We would say that definitely bodes well for her in Korea.
