Good Luck Charlie's Jason Dolley Reacts to "Innovative" Bridgit Mendler's Career as a CEO

Jason Dolley wasn't sure if the world was ready for not for Bridgit Mendler's career shift.

Indeed, despite her busy career on Disney Channel and as a rising popstar, the Good Luck Charlie actress stepped away from the spotlight to pursue a career in tech. But as her onscreen brother revealed, the move actually made sense to him.

"All of the news that broke about her when she was going to MIT, then she was building satellites, it surprised me," Jason exclusively told E! News' Francesca Amiker at the Wizards Beyond Waverly Place premiere Oct. 28, "but it also fit very well with who I knew her to be."

The Minutemen alum added, "She obviously has a great career spirit as an actor and a singer and songwriter, but she's always had this really inventive and creative mind." (For more from Jason and others on the Wizards Beyond Waverly Place red carpet, tune into E! News tonight, Oct. 29, at 11 p.m.)

Earlier this year, Bridigt shared that she and her husband Griffin Cleverly had founded tech startup Northwood Space, which aims to build ground satellite stations to help send and receive data from space, acting as a "data highway" between the two. She currently serves as the CEO, while Griffin—with whom she shares a 4-year-old son—acts as CTO.

The 31-year-old also graduated with a law degree from Harvard in May, and was pursuing a PhD from MIT—although she did have to put that on a brief hold.

According to Jason, Bridgit's father builds engines, so he thinks it was only logical for her to "go in that direction."

"But honestly, she can do whatever she sets her mind to," the 33-year-old continued, "and I say, 'Power to you.' Get those satellites off and build a better tomorrow."

And if Jason's manifesting works, perhaps Bridgit might consider acting again in a Good Luck Charlie reboot.

"I think there's lots of interesting stories to be told there," he mused, sharing a few ideas about his character's storyline. "I think PJ's trajectory is very interesting. You know, going into the role of cooking and maybe he becomes a Gordon Ramsey type."

Jason did note that he's not the one who can make the final call though, telling E!, "I'm putting it out there, so we'll see what happens."
