A wrongful death suit filed by Joel Gavalas in a federal district court in California alleges Google’s Gemini chatbot convinced his 36-year-old son, Jonathan, to plan a mass casualty attack and to die by suicide.

The complaint alleges Jonathan became dependent on Gemini Live after upgrading to Google AI Ultra, and that the chatbot adopted an unsolicited romantic persona and issued a series of “missions.”
