PASIR GUDANG: A sombre atmosphere enveloped the home of 6-year-old Tishant's family in Jalan Rimbun, Bandar Seri Alam, Masai, today as loved ones gathered for the child's funeral rites.

Around 100 close friends and relatives attended the ceremony, which began at 9am, to pay their final respects.

An MPV carrying the body departed the residence at 10.42 am for a Hindu crematorium at Jalan Kebun Teh, accompanied by a procession of approximately ten family vehicles.

The family requested no media coverage at the event due to their discomfort with press presence.

The cremation ceremony commenced at midday.

The tragedy has sparked an outpouring of grief across the country.

On Monday night, media reports stated that Tishant's body was found buried in Rompin, Jempol, after he had been reported missing in Taman Bukit Indah, Iskandar Puteri, Johor, on July 24.

Investigations revealed the child died from strangulation with a cable tie.

A post-mortem examination at the Forensic Unit of Hospital Rembau determined the cause of death to be neck compression.

The autopsy began at 12pm, with the body released at approximately 4.26pm the same day.

Authorities are continuing their investigation to establish the motive behind the killing.

Preliminary questioning suggests the suspect may have been experiencing domestic issues and was undergoing a divorce.

The exact motive remains under investigation.

A man aged 36, identified as Tishant's father, has been arrested and remanded by Johor police for seven days to assist with the probe.

He previously filed a police report claiming his son had disappeared after being left in the car while he stepped out to buy food.
