Comedian James Veitch’s HBO Max special has been removed from the platform following allegations of rape and sexual assault.
James Veitch: Straight To VHS was launched on HBO Max on August 20, but has been pulled from the streamer following allegations made by some former classmates at Sarah Lawrence College, reported by The Hollywood Reporter.
A spokesperson for HBO Max said: ‘We were deeply disturbed to learn of these allegations of unacceptable behavior by James Veitch and will be removing the special from our platform for now.’
A spokesperson for Conan O’Brien’s production company Team Coco, which produced the comedy special, said: ‘Team Coco takes these allegations very seriously and supports HBO Max’s decision.’
Veitch has also been dropped by William Morris Endeavor Entertainment; Metro.co.uk has contacted WME for further comment.
Veitch reportedly declined to comment on the allegations made against him but according to THR, ‘a source close to him says he denies all allegations’.
