Hong Kong actress Jacqueline Wong’s career took a hit in 2019 after she was embroiled in a cheating scandal with singer Andy Hui, who was then married to Cantopop icon Sammi Cheng.

The fallout was swift, with her former agency TVB suspending her projects and replacing her scenes in the 2020 drama Forensic Heroes IV, according to Dimsum Daily.

After four years of silence on the career front, Wong, 36, made her comeback in 2023 as a singer with her single Crown Me.

She most recently dropped her self-composed song The Beauty Of Seeing Through The World, in which she confronts the emotional aftermath of her scandal.

In an interview with Hong Kong media, Wong shared that it took her years to fully process the incident and translate those complex emotions into her music.

Though six years have passed, she admitted that the experience remains unforgettable.

“I’ll never forget it. This incident has already become part of my life experience. It really happened… So there’s no need to run from it or fear people bringing it up.

“That’s just life. If you make a mistake, you have to take responsibility. I’ve accepted that it’s part of my past,” she added.

Meanwhile, Hui, 57, has plans to reunite with his band Big Four for a concert in August.

When asked if she was interested in attending, Wong replied in the negative, preferring to show support from afar.

“Everyone is working hard to move forward in life, and I’ll wish (Hui and his band members) well,” she said.

Wong also expressed appreciation for her husband, drummer Lai Man Wang, whom she credits as her source of encouragement during difficult times. The couple married on Oct 27, 2023.

“He’s my spring, summer, autumn and winter,” she shared.
